I bought tv show season on dvd and i want to place them on my ipod touch can i do that?

hello,
i’m doing netflix. i like getting tv shows on dvd. I like kinda older tv shows. what were some of your fav’s as kids. I have already gotten the sets of:
Hart to Hart
Remington Steele
3rd Rock from the Sun
Barney Miller
Sports Night
Taxi
Soap
Pleased Days
NewsRadio

not interested in shows like frieds, everyone likes raymond, etc… that can be seen on TBS.

I have a blank DVD in there, cause i want to record the grammys, problem is, i have no thought how to record it cause i bought the thing a few years ago! do all DVDs record? help just tell me how! (i have dish if that matters either)

My cable company is Comcast and I use a Comcast (Motorola) converter box. I have digital cable and no HD.
I tried to play it back and there was no sound. The TV was muted while the remote was set to Cable. Another time when the remote was set to TV and the TV was muted, the sound remained on the dvd disc.

I downloaded a couple seasons I bought but my DVD player wont play them. It says it won’t support them. Does itunes seriously make it so you can only watch what you buy on your computer?!?! Am I missing something??
